This isn’t about doctors. It’s about the clock.
Many of us count good doctors among our closest friends. Most practitioners care deeply, and most are working against short visits, packed schedules and billing rules they didn’t write. That’s why so many are leaving corporate medicine for independent practices where they can truly know their patients.
Exam Room Ready makes all of us wiser. Three good questions help you and your practitioner make the most of the time you have, and the best practitioners love an informed patient.
So who would you rather be with? Someone you know, like and trust.
The 3 magic questions
Ask these before any test, prescription or procedure. Good care has good answers, and you get to say yes with confidence.
Peek at the price first
Knowing the cost before the bill shows up is simple once you know where to look.
Get it in writing
Paying cash or uninsured? You can generally ask for a good faith estimate before scheduled care. Take it home and think it over.
Check every name
Ask if each provider is in network, including the lab, imaging and anesthesia. Those are the usual surprises.
Read the receipt
Ask for an itemized bill and read it line by line before you pay. Questions are free.
